It's The Little Things In Life

Last week my laptop decided it had a good life and was no longer going to provide service to me any longer. Yesterday marked one week without a laptop. I definitely felt weird not having my favorite tool next to me. I might even say I need my laptop more than my phone. Because of this, I have had to rely on others which isn't always my favorite thing. But it's also allowed me to socialize more and not be so engulfed in school work and working on this blog. That being said, I am excited to get my laptop make and get back into life.
Today also marked my last week shadowing at the Overton Hotel in Lubbock, Tx. It was actually bittersweet. I was able to make great connections with the front desk manager and a couple of the sales girls. This experience has actually taught me a lot. Today I felt God, today I felt excitement and eagerness. I've wanted to do event planning for nearly 4 years now, I went in knowing very little and having practically no experience to having experience in multiple industries within planning. I am so excited to start interning in the spring for class and pursuing internship in the summer. I have always been geared towards working and making a name for myself. Thankfully I have two great remodels as parents and a God who provides. A lot of things are changing and I couldn't imagine things getting better, but they are. As a sophomore I have plenty of time to learn, grow, and fail. But I am excited to jump more into hospitality and see what is in store for my career.
This month marks two months of me being the Alumnae Engagement Director for Kappa Alpha Theta. The other Theta who ran this had to step down due to nursing school and I was able to run for the position and got chosen out of a couple candidates. I have had a putting on the finishing touches for Dad's weekend coming up in a month and planning Mom's weekend in April. I have loved this taste of event planning and getting to network in Lubbock with different event venues. I am thankful that I received this position, but most importantly it reminded me God's timing isn't always my timing (better late than never) and God's plan is always better. It truly is the little things in life that keep you going, that make you stay positive, and most importantly remind you God is good, all the time. God is good.

Liv
